Flora Natapoff first exhibited with Barbara Krakow in 1975. Since that time, Natapoff has moved from monumental collaged paintings to intimate collages. While early on, she was identified as much with her imagery as her technique, Natapoff’s imagery has varied over the years. At this point, her intimate collages are sometimes as thick as they are wide. Imagery is sourced from drives in the British countryside, cityscapes and everyday arrangements. Separate drawings are made of all these situations and then collaged together to create ‘moments’ that are actually accumulations of different times.
