Barbara Krakow Gallery is proud to present Sol LeWitt: Structures and Related Works on Paper, 1968 – 2005.

The latest in the gallery’s ongoing series of exhibitions exploring the vocabularies that Sol LeWitt explored over his career, this show consists of a survey of his three-dimensional structures based on the geometric form of a cube and will be supplemented by four print projects that further illuminate forms derived from a cube.

LeWitt focused on taking reductivist forms and exploring the variations therein.  Through subtle alterations, in both two and three dimensions, LeWitt was able to create visually captivating and intellectually rigorous systems, groups and variants. By presenting the various possibilities and not placing one as the ultimate solution, the artist not only created situations where choice, preference and difference were accepted, but he also elucidated that there was no one right answer – a beautiful statement not only about art, but humanity and life, as well.
