LYNEN, featuring the works of Sylvia Plimack Mangold, Ursula von Rydingsvard and Kiki Smith, divides the central gallery into three sections, each devoted to one of three artists. To different degrees, all three artists explore the balance between natural materials and handwork with an emphasis on the use of line to define, conflate and extrapolate from recognizable images. We should add that Ursula’s exhibition at the DeCordova Sculpture Park & Museum has just opened.
